All in Last Century

This week I'm going to listen to Ep. 73 - Marmoset Day. I began this ep with an unnecessary apology for sound quality because we used to record right next to the air conditioning unit. Yeah, it sounds different. Yeah, it's not great. No, it probably didn't need to be called out before it even started. Whatevs. This was the first appearance of fan and most frequent guest, Will Reed! This episode begins with a not un-typical scrambled beginning segment, followed by Will introducing himself. We talked about the Women in Science LEGO sets and the Brick Breakdown segment on the All Us Geeks podcast. ...

Welcome back to Last Century! This week we released episode 171 so let's take a look back to Ep. 71 - The Evil Geniuses Without Borders Association. This episode kicks off with a long-ish cold opening with some fun random banter that happened before we began the official session. Someone let a "thyme" joke happen. We're sorry.

On May 22nd, 2014, we released another "reserve" episode that was titled Ep. 70 - The Sharket. Obviously, May was a difficult month for us to schedule recordings.

The cold open was us discussing how to handle the dated intro song for that episode.

For What Have You Been Up To? Jon pretended that we were once again dead (hence the need for a reserve ep). I was hoping that we would share fantastic stories about how we had died, but we didn't discuss that ahead of time and wires were crossed so it didn't happen. Instead, I complained about Ted the Intern. ...

100 episodes ago was Ep. 69 - Super Mega Ginseng Adventure -- GO! for May 14th, 2014. This episode was the first time that Cody and I recorded an episode by ourselves. Jon was unable to record that week and we were unable to get a guest to take his place. It was scary! What would happen?! As I recall, this is one of the few episodes that we recorded in the garage of Cody's own house. If I'm not wrong, there was a really obnoxious compressor of some sort for an appliance of some sort that made a harsh buzzing noise of some sort that ruined our recording flow of some sort for some reason. ...

100 episodes ago was Ep. 68 - Missing Time featuring Jon, Cody, and Dave recorded for May 8th, 2014. I think it was a "reserve" episode (one that we record to release whenever we can't make a normally scheduled recording) because it began with a cold opening that I remember setting aside from an early episode for later use and the "What Have You Been Up To?" segment is filled with obviously fictional activities. This episode also features a scene inspired by conversation, instead of a deliberate segment-based scene, which doesn't happen often. ...
